Forester

We are currently looking to fill a full-time permanent forester position based out of the Tomahawk office. This is considered an entry-level position working under the direction of a Project Forester or other senior staff member. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry
  • Desire to develop a career as a professional forester in a fast-paced and diverse consulting business
  • Experienced in Lake States forest inventory practices
  • Experienced in Lake States forest management and harvesting techniques
  • Ability to work independently in varied settings both in the field and with clients and other professionals
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Access
  • Experience with GPS data collecting and processing
  • Experience with ESRI ArcView 9.x GIS software and GIS mapping and data collection principles
  • Ability to travel and conduct overnight work away from the Tomahawk office
  • Current valid drivers license with personal vehicle suitable for forestry work (mileage is reimbursed)
  • Interest in involvement in professional organizations to further education and develop working relationships with other professional foresters

Primary duties will include conducting forest inventory, timber sale set-up work, and assisting with general forest management tasks in the Lake States.

Following the successful completion of a probationary period, full-time employees receive a full benefit package including health insurance, vacation, paid holidays, 401K, and profit sharing.
